Could choosing faces help you discover what draws you to someone?
What I built
A web experiment that explores visual preferences through face comparisons when words fall short. The first version, called Chwihyangsang, offered 12 rounds of face comparisons, mood-based results, and sharing. It is now being replanned around comparing faces and discovering a virtual person you have not seen, instead of assigning a type name. Comparison methods and images are being prepared to show the same features across different people and combinations, without assuming a preference from hair or eyes alone.
History
- The first Chwihyangsang draft
Built a mobile-focused website with 12 face comparisons, preference keywords, and a virtual-person result, without sign-up or photo uploads. Saving result cards and comparing with friends were also implemented. It was not publicly deployed.
- New faces instead of types
Reopened the name and design and shifted toward suggesting people not seen during exploration. The original draft and the new production plan are kept separately.
- Starting again with comparison images
Reviewed production criteria using 8 images of two new virtual adults, including hair variations. Image sets for comparing the same features across several people and the recommendation flow are still in preparation. The new version is not complete.
